This month, I’m really excited to introduce you to Zeenat Ahmed-Peto, a cognitive hypnotherapist and successful businesswoman.

When Zeenat was considering how to raise her profile, she knew that this meant aligning her brand visuals with her evolving business and that she needed more than just another photoshoot. Launching her first book at the same time, Zeenat decided she wanted to work with a strategic partner she could trust and got in touch.

Why me? Building Trust and Comfort

So, why did Zeenat choose me? We first met at a networking event, and very soon after meeting, she decided to signed up for a course I was running with Amy Atkinson. One which included a mini-shoot. That experience gave her a taste of what working with me would be like and she told me, “I found your expertise invaluable”.

It’s great to hear positive feedback, particularly having Zeenat share that:

“I found Liz to be very likeable, I felt comfortable in her presence, and her experience shone through. Having done the course and the mini-shoot, I was really happy with the photos and decided to book a full shoot.”

I know how important it is for my clients to feel comfortable, and hearing Zeenat’s endorsement demonstrates how trust and connection are essential to create effective brand imagery.

Planning Together: Aligning Goals and Brand Vision

Talking to Zeenat, it’s great to hear that one of the things she appreciated most was the detailed planning session before the shoot. We talked through who she wanted to attract, the mood and tone of the images, and even the colours she would wear to communicate effectively with her audience.

“The planning session was really useful as I had to think about what I was planning to achieve, who I wanted to attract to my business... I was impressed with the amount of detailed planning Liz put into that session and how she considered the possible venues and outdoor spaces.” Zeenat said.

I say this to all my clients: this planning phase is where the magic starts. It’s not just about taking photos; it’s about creating a visual story that truly reflects your brand’s personality and goals.

The Photoshoot: A Shared Creative Journey

Like many people, Zeenat was nervous about posing, especially “as I never know what to do with my hands in photos!” With all the reassurance from the planning we’d done and some gentle guidance, she quickly relaxed and even started to enjoy the process.

“By the time we had done the first lot of photos, I was really relaxed and started to have a lovely time. What surprised me was a) how much I enjoyed it and b) how tired I felt at the end of the day.”

I find that for many of my clients, the photoshoot day is a mix of excitement and nerves, but with the right support, the experience becomes the fun, empowering session we want.

How Zeenat felt, that journey from nervousness to confidence, is incredibly common. And what’s most important is the reminder that great photos will only come from feeling comfortable and authentic.

The Proof is in the Picture

While I love hearing that clients have had a good time at the shoot, it’s only a real success if the final images are loved and used. Thankfully, Zeenat was positive about the photographs too.

“I almost never like my photos when I first see them, but they grow on me after a while... This time, I liked more of them straight away.” She followed up, “I was also thinking more strategically - I was thinking about my potential clients and viewers, rather than myself. The photos represent an aspect of me, and they are designed to elevate my brand and tell more people about what I stand for.” Exactly what we had hoped for!

And Zeenat’s favourite photos? “The ones where Liz was saying silly things to make me laugh!” Whether it’s the final image we create, or the memory that picture brings back, it’s wonderful that the fun of the photoshoot brought Zeenat the images she wanted.

Results: How the Photos Elevated Zeenat’s Marketing

Since the shoot, Zeenat told me she has found it easier to post regularly and share her story visually. The photos have become a vital part of her marketing toolkit.

“The photos have elevated my brand and have made it easy for me to post much more than I would have in the past. I have used so many of the photos - I aim to use them all eventually.”

These images have helped Zeenat really show off her brand and connect more deeply with her audience — this surely is a true win for any business owner.

Why Collaboration Matters: The Right Approach and Client Care

Zeenat has worked with other photographers before, but she highlighted the value of the preparation and care I bring to every shoot.

“The preparation Liz does for a shoot is second to none. Nothing is left to chance, so there are no missed opportunities. She is also really generous with her time and goes above and beyond to make you feel your best. I love the vibrancy of the photos and the way she helped me pick out accessories to chime with my brand colours - a subtle thread running through the photos.”

Through this case study, I wanted to show you how thoughtful collaboration, strategic planning, and genuine connection can transform your brand’s visibility — just like it did for Zeenat.

Many of the business owners I speak to put off investing in brand photography because they’re nervous, struggle to identify the ROI, or feel they can achieve what they need by doing it themselves. The right professional photographer - one with brand marketing and storytelling experience - will give you so much more than just good photos; you’ll have strategic images that will work for you.

If you want to enhance your visibility to support your growing business, I’d love to help.
